Hand Painted Snowboards
2021 — 2024
-

Looking back at snowboards I’ve owned and ridden, there’s always been an element of personalization, whether that was the sticker technique, doodles, drawings, or painted art. There’s something about modifying your snowboard in this artful manner, taking it on a hill, and getting rad. Over the years I’ve painted quite a few decks for my friends or collaborated with a buddy on each other’s boards. It always puts a smile on my face ripping the through the mountains witnessing the colorful artwork slicing through the powder, hiking along a ridge, or flying through the air.

Starting in 2021, I’ve continued this journey of modifying production snowboard top sheets with a goal of creating unique artwork that’s bold, bright, and inspiring. Using liquid acrylic ink in a bevy of wonderful colors, my technique takes anywhere from two to six weeks to complete, depending on the number of paint layers happening throughout the process. The result is a one-of-a-kind art piece ready for adventure through the mountains and streets, or as a permanent art fixture in the home, office, studio, or place of business.

If you’d like further information regarding this process, have interest in the purchase of future art pieces, or commission quotes (yes, I’ll paint your snowboard), contact me at blotto@blottophotto.com
