Peace Park 2019

Woodward’s 2019 Peace Park Championships took place in Truckee, California upon the Boreal Resort slopes, featuring twenty of snowboarding’s most gifted male and female athletes. The event was a five-day format, contestants riding a different section of the course each day of the week, judged by panel and their fellow snowboarders.
My photo plan was capturing one image that summed up each respective day that went beyond a traditional single rider on a single frame. After photo planning each obstacle and area, my team and I set up multiple cameras, captured the action, then moved over to the editing bay to create a number of unique collages.
This process was completely new to competition snowboarding coverage and received rave reviews from client, riders, event organizers and media. This collage collection also appeared as a stand-alone wall at the Burlington, Vermont Scrap’d installation, so I decided to place the design here as shown this past summer.
